TORINO IN THE BOX 2026 BY GENNARO REGINA REGGIA DI VENARIA (TURIN) 1 JULY 2026 / 4 OCTOBER 2026
Jun 19, 2026
Between memory and vision, geography and imagination, Torino in the Box is the new exhibition project by Gennaro Regina, a Neapolitan artist and designer who has been developing a personal research on the recovery and transformation of past images for years, fueled by a family tradition linked to the world of antique booksellers and collecting.
The works are born from ancient geographical maps, eighteenth-century maps, book pages and print fragments that, through collage, painting and the superimposition of signs and symbols, are transformed into emotional and universal landscapes. Vesuvius, mermaids, the sea, the profile of Turin become archetypes of a story in which individual memory intertwines with collective memory.
Regina's art is based on a gesture of recovery that is not nostalgia, but regeneration: materials guarding a past time are taken from their destiny as archive objects to acquire a new life, giving rise to works in which myth, identity and contemporaneity coexist.
Torino in the Box is also a reflection of art's ability to create connections between different places and times. Naples and Turin, the heritage of the past and the sensibility of the present, engage in a dialogue that invites the public to look beyond the surface of images, discovering in the stratification of signs a poetic reflection on landscape, memory and the very meaning of inhabiting the world.
An exhibition that is configured as a "box of wonders": an open place, in continuous movement, container and content, where the papers of the past become living matter and the journey of art is incessantly renewed.
Finally, Torino in the Box is a tribute to Luca Beatrice: meeting again, over time, can take different forms.
